Goodbye Cairns

Oh Cairns, where to begin?

We arrived in February, with the intention of staying only two weeks to complete our planned trips, and move on. With about $200 in our bank accounts (combined), we realized pretty quickly that we would have to stay for a while.

What we found was completely unexpected, and became the reason we spent nine months in the tropical north: a home, a family and jobs we love.

With a heavy heart, we finally said goodbye and left the hostel. Calypso and the Mad Monkey family were everything we could have hoped for and more, and the people we met will be friends for life.

Safe travels to everyone we met, we’ll see you down the road elsewhere!
